The bible in the book of Proverbs 4:23 says and I quote "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life" (NIV).
If your appreciate the fact that this world is more spiritual than physical, you will appreciate how you control your mind, the seat of power. You must think positive thoughts about yourself and others. Having good thoughts about yourself gives you self-confidence and self respect.
However, if you allow positive thoughts fill your heart always, it will reflect in your output and productivity in all you do. On the other hand, negative people never go far as they are always afraid to move forward and scared of failure.
The positive attitude of two out of the twelve spies that were sent to spy the promised land in Canaan got them rewarded by God in the bible in the book of Numbers 32:9-12.
9 After they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and viewed the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land the LORD had given them.
10 The LORD'S anger was aroused that day and he swore this oath:
11 'Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years old or more who came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--
12 not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly.'
Do you want to experience breakthrough in your life's endeavours? Think positive! Three years ago, I came across a quote "The mind is like an umbrella, it is not useful until it is opened". Open up your mind for positive thoughts.
Be optimistic and not pessimistic. I read a quote sometime ago, it goes like this, "The optimistic built the plane, the pessimist built a parachute". Are you aiming to fly and soar till you arrive at your destination? Or are you more concerned of falling or crashing? Stop being expectant of bad things. Stop being a victim of the bad economy. Don't be like the lazy person who the book of Proverbs describes in chapter 22 and 26.
- Prov 22:13 The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside!" or, "I will be murdered in the streets!" (NIV)
- Prov 26:13 The sluggard says, "There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!" (NIV).
Pray that God your heavenly father should help you to think positive and so that you will be a blessing magnet.
